What's your character's name? (needed to contact you in game)

Leer

What got you started playing WoW?

I was in a high-end raiding guild in EQ2 and when we were not raiding I was pretty bored. I heard a lot of hype about WoW and I decided to give it a shot. I've been playing the game very casually since it came out.

How did you hear about SSX and what makes you believe this guild is right for you?

I heard about the guild from my roommate, Thegardian (Kevin). I also know Requiemdream (Sean). I believe this guild is right for me because I am tired of the job-like raid guilds that I have experienced in other MMORPGs. I want a guild that has the ability to raid without the 40-hour-a-week playtime requirement.

I also like the fact that the guild is larger than just a WoW division. I play a few other MMOs and it's nice to have a guild community in a bunch of games.

Who do you know that is already in the guild and how did you meet them?

I know Thegardian and Requiemdream. I met them both in college, and I currently live with Thegardian.

What other guilds were you in previously and why did you leave them?

In WoW I was only in one other guild -- Band of Brothers. They broke up over some arguments stemming from past members/disputes (they are another guild that has been around for years across a bunch of different games). I was not currently active in WoW when they broke up, so when I returned, I was guildless.

I have been a member and officer in a bunch of other guilds throughout my MMORPG 'career' (EQ1, EQ2, Vanguard), and if you are interested in that history, ask me in-game.

Have you applied to any other guilds recently?

No.

What are the most important qualities of a good guild to you?

A sense of community is very important. Cohesiveness within the ranks, and the willingness to help other members is very important. During raids, strong leadership and clear communication (Vent) is an important quality. Common interests and goals is definitely a major factor as well.

Also, from my past experiences, a comprehensive application process for new recruits is an important quality in a guild.
