Shura No Toki

I keep seeing these on shelves at the store, but don't know if it is worth the time/effort. Have heard both good and bad things about em. Like its the same battle over and over and over......

Anyone actually seen some of them?

Yea, the plot follows three "generations" of the descendents of the Shura style or whatever it was called (hence the "Shura no Toki - Time of Shura", or maybe I translated that wrong).

So you get three "sections" of the anime (not all evenly divided) about this guy who doesn't use any weapons (think, barehands) and kicks almost every famous anime samurai's (that had some real basis in history) @$$.

It's a good watch, but not worth "keeping" IMHO. I'd say borrow it from a friend or try to get it for cheap. It gives some good background to Japanese history. Basically covers the pre - war - and post era of the Bakumatsu.

All in all, I give it a 3.5 / 5... I guess I didn't like how they kept jumping 20 years every 7-8 episodes.

its pretty good. Wish they kept up with the first section of the arc though. I definitly recommend it though pad its pretty good in terms of the idea behind it. Its a little boring when it comes down to the fights though cuz they have the DBZ staredown competition :P
